Then, remove the set screw, adjust the D-handle to the thickness of your door, and secure the L-handle to the shaft with the set screw using the Allen wrench. When the outside L-handle is twisted, the D-handle latches to the building framework, and turning it 90 degrees clockwise moves it to the open position.
